Dr. Paul J. Sietmann is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.  He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Iowa and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago.  He received his Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease Certification from the International Association of Board of Examiners in Optometry and passed his National Boards in Optometry while still in his final year of optometry school.  He went on to receive his Ocular Therapy Certification from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and subsequently became a Licensed Therapeutic Optometrist with the Texas Optometry Board.  He has also received an Ophthalmic Laser Certification from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry.  In 2002 he became a Licensed Glaucoma Specialist with the Texas Optometry Board and has since devoted a large portion of his practice to providing early detection and effective treatment for his glaucoma patients.  He has also been involved as a sub-investigator and study coordinator for multiple pharmaceutical studies that have resulted in new and effective treatment options for glaucoma patients worldwide.  Dr. Sietmann understands that glaucoma is a complicated and multifaceted disease process.  His philosophy is to genuinely get to know the patient as a whole; to take the time to explain all of the variables and then map out a plan that best serves each individual patient.  He believes a well informed and knowledgeable patient is a successful patient.  He keeps his training and knowledge up to date through active membership in the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association and locally in the Northeast Texas Optometric Society.
On a personal note Dr. Sietmann has a daughter who is a senior at The University of Texas at Dallas and a son who is in his junior year at Texas Christian University.  He and his wife attend Hope Fellowship Church in Frisco Texas.
